S410 -Day #12

Starter for Ten - April 17th 2023

Attempted to write from my imagination this morning. I find it more challenging. I’m going to do some reading tonight to see if I can find some tips to help, I will share what I find tomorrow. For the drawing I decided to draw from life again and I really got into this one. I wanted to keep going after ten minutes and see what it would look like finished. I have left it on my desk to see if I feel like adding more later.

S410 -Day #11

Starter for Ten - April 16th 2023

I have a confession, I just couldn’t make the challenge a priority today. S410 -Day #10

Starter for Ten - April 15th 2023

I have never done breathwork before and was recommended to try it out by my friend and work coach Emma Shanahan. For today’s ten minute writing and creative exercise I wanted to journal on the experience.

S410 -Day #8

Starter for Ten - April 13th 2023

Today I decided to do the visual challenge first. I woke up with the idea of drawing lots of dots and giving myself the task of turning them into as many things as I could, within ten minutes, by only drawing around them. View a video of the result here.

Seven days of Starter for Ten a creative exercise

Starter for Ten (S410) is a daily creative exercise that I am doing for 30 days. I set a ten-minute timer and write whatever comes into my head. After that, I do the same to create a visual. The idea is to loosen up, create daily and get over the idea that everything I make needs to be perfect or have a purpose. Here’s what I have learned so far…

This morning was a bit of a brain dump on the youtube video below that I’ve been thinking about since I watched it last week. The title had me click instantly, why wouldn’t I want to learn how to stop fighting my mind? What do you do instead?
